NEWS: Are You The 2016 Ford Mustang GT350?

A prototype of Fords new Mustang was caught testing in Santa Monica wrapped in heavily camouflage. Under the camo, you can clearly see a bulge in the hood meaning that this particular car is the 2016 Ford Mustang GT350.

Ford obviously went to a lot of trouble to make sure that this prototype was well camouflaged, even blocking the wheels to make sure no one could see what kind of brakes the Mustang would be running with.

The photographer who caught the Mustang testing was sure to detail every part of the vehicle. He spotted the rev limiter and noticed that SVT gave the this car an over-rev function, meaning the redline is increased from 6500 to 7000 rpm briefly.

The current generation Mustang GT500 has this same function, allowing you to over-rev for 8 seconds at a time. There was some mesh behind the rear wheels that appeared to be hiding big extractor vents on the fenders and on the hood. He was also able to see a big set of quad exhaust tips and a rear diffuser out back. This prototype was wearing Michelin Pilot Super Sports and a the good old six-speed manual transmission.

If this is the next gen top-dog Mustang, only time will tell if this pony will live up to the legendary Shelby name.
