NEWS: New Generation F-150 Raptor Caught Testing

In 2010, Ford Motor Companies in-house tuner division SVT spun their wrenches on an F-150 and pumped out the extrem, factory built, off-road beast we've all come to know and love; the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, an All-American truck powered by a 6.2 Liter V8, more comfortable than a standard F-150, capable of towing roughly 10,000 pounds and able to fly through the desert at over 70 mph without breaking a sweet.

So far Ford has manager to sell over 30,000 raptors.

So when these spy shots came out of the 2016 Ford Raptor out testing, journalists and enthusiasts alike couldn't be more excited. The 2016 Raptor will be made of aluminum just like its brother F-150 platform. The vehicle caught testing was a crew cab model of the current gen Raptor fitted with new suspension components.

In 2013 Ford entered an F-150 race truck into the Baja 1000 that sported an aluminum body pretty much proving they have been working on this truck for some time and confirming to us the next gen Raptor will retain its title as world most toughest truck.

Although the 2015 Ford F-150 will not offer the 6.2 Liter engine, making the 5.0 liter the top engine, there is no word yet on what engine will power the new Raptor. Possibilities include the 5.0 Liter V8 and maybe even the Ecoboost V6. Based on the personality of the Raptor, Ford will most likely offer a V8 in the Raptor but don’t rule out the Ecoboost.

The new Raptor should come in around the same price as the outgoing model, don’t be surprised if there is a little price bump due to high demand and the new aluminum body.
