NEWS: Callaway Camaro Z/28 from Brawler to 652hp Stone Cold Killer
We all know Callaway Cars for their ability to turn some of the Generals finest into straight up horsepower war machines, take the 610hp Corvette Stingray SC610 or the 570hp Chevrolet SS SC570 as a couple of their most recent graduates. Today Callaway has announced their most recent recruit, the Callaway Camaro Z/28 SC652.
Seeing as how the factory born 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 comes standard with performance upgrades like the 505hp 7.0L LS7 V8, spool-valve dampers, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and aerodynamic modifications, Callaway had the perfect canvas to create their masterpiece.
The Callaway massaged Z/28 adds a high-flow intake, low-restriction exhaust system, a set of high-flow injectors, and a liquid-to-air intercooled Eaton TVS2300 LS7 supercharger that once blessed the 2006-2013 Callaway Corvette Z06 SC652 thus pushing output to an out cold [enter noun here] 652hp - an additional 147hp over stock. In favor for more power the Callaway Camaro Z/28 will jettison the optional air conditioning and sound system.
Callaway described the Z/28 package as “not for the faint of heart,” claiming 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds and a quarter-mile run in 11.5 seconds at 124 mph – not to mention the additional $19,999 on top of the stock Z/28 ’s $75,000 MSRP.
Only 10 copies of the Camaro Z/28 SC652 will ever see the light of day so if exclusivity is your thing, Callaway says production will begin when the Z/28 hits dealer lots this spring.
