“Hellcat” Supercharged HEMI 6.2L V8 powered Challenger SRT could debut in Detroit

As Dodge primes the pump to reveal their refreshed Challenger for the 2015 model year, rumors are swirling that the Challenger and the rumored “Hellcat” supercharged HEMI 6.2L V8 could break cover as soon as next week at the Detroit auto show.

It is believed that the “Hellcat” is capable of horsepower figures somewhere north of 600 ponies and could power a specialty edition model of the top-of-the-line Challenger SRT, similar to Chevrolets new $75k Camaro Z28. If so, it’s safe to assume a price tag well over the current Challenger SRT 392’s $46k base price.
