2014 Camaro Z/28 priced at $75,000

When the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 goes on sale late this January be ready to fork over $75,000, including a $995 destination charge and gas guzzler tax – be sure to add $1,150 if you find air conditioning and a radio with a total of six speakers necessary.

GM’s new track star comes straight outta the gates ready to take on the world’s best track competition rivals. This bad bow tie sports a Bowling Green hand built 7.0l V8 rated at 505hp and 481lbft of torque, ceramic brakes, spool-valve dampers, close-ratios six-speed manual trans, and a limited slip differential.

It’s a given the new Z/28 is a top dog in performance and price when compared to its siblings. The 580hp Camaro ZL1 starts at $57,350, and the 460hpsStingray staring at $54,795 however neither car come close to the track capability of the Z/28. Last year the Camaro Z/28 lapped the Nürburgring in 7 minutes, 37 seconds, beating out supercars like the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and the Lexus LFA.

The first deliveries should arrive in customers garages this spring. The very first production Z/28 will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at a Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 18.
